Lesson 7 - Shape, Styles, Apply Image, and Photoshop Brushes
From a very young age, I fell in love with coloring books. Coloring was an opportunity for me to express my creativity and experiment with colors. Since then, I have realized the importance of color and basic shapes in regards to design and the impact they can have. Creating a modern view on a childhood favorite activity was the goal with this adult coloring book cover.

Design Thoughts:
- Inspired by modern (adult) coloring books; and simplified elements of design
- Sketched out the design using old school pencil and paper
- Used the Rectangle Tool > Transform > Skew, Distort, Warp to create shapes and arranged them in the shape of a simplified and abstract elephant
- Left align text, animal, and logo to create alignment and guide the eye through the design
- Applied text: Black text to create contrast against the elephant, Font: Century Gothic
- Logo: Text Tool (Font: Century Gothic, Book Antiqua); Rectangle Tool > Layer Styles > Stroke (Size: 5px, Position: outside, Color: Black)
- Colors used: Pink (#D90146), Purple (#761477), Blue (#22B4DD), Yellow (#EDA002), Orange (#DD5B06), Green (#62803E)
